Tuna Üner
Born in Istanbul in 1988, he is currently continuing his studies in the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The artist reinterprets his daily observations of the city and nature through the possibilities of painting, seeking new layers of meaning. He subjects the concrete findings that emerge from external observation to the mind’s capacity for abstraction, triggering a creative act. In this process, the rises and falls, horizontals and verticals, diagonals, zigzags, and waves encountered daily in both nature and the urban environment — though often unnoticed — come together in an allegorical unity. Integrating his observations with the playful attitude of his inner world, he produces rhythmic deformations, employing elements of performance throughout his creative practice.
