Soyhan Baltacı
Born in Istanbul in 1989, he completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Plastic Arts at Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2015. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Yildiz Technical University, Faculty of Art and Design.
In his work, he compares elements of space, human beings, and nature, turning the relationship between humans and their environment into an object of critique. While nature was once a space full of possibilities for humans—initially a biological species—it has, over time, become depleted and damaged. As resources diminish and needs increase, humans have found themselves confronted with the consequences of their own destruction. Baltacı explores this confrontation and the human–space relationship by juxtaposing living and non-living materials, helping us perceive the connections between them.
