Reşat Bayraktar
Born in Yalova in 1964, he studied in Adnan Çoker’s studio at the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and graduated from the same atelier. Continuing his artistic production in his studio in Yalova, Bayraktar’s work is built upon the simultaneous expression of several foundational concepts: expressionism, futuristic elements, optical formation, and a structuralist approach. While traces of all these movements appear in his paintings, there is also a persistent state of resisting categorization. His personality-driven tendency to probe, to dissect events, to turn toward the essence behind what is visible, and to examine the relationship between foregrounded illusion and underlying truth becomes evident on his canvas.
In his work, the world grasped through mind and spirit undergoes fragmentation and total abstraction, eventually reorienting itself toward the universal through deep, internal associations.
