Gamze Zorlu
Born in Mersin in 1989, Gamze Zorlu graduated from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, spending one year of her studies in Spain at the Universidad de Sevilla through the Erasmus LLP program. In her paintings, she explores the tense relationship between urban culture and nature—an environment we are a part of yet increasingly distanced from. Drawing on the concept of “strange attractors” in physics and their effects in space-time, Zorlu presents space as a kind of puzzle, fragmented and reassembled through her visual language.
