Abdo Yalçınkaya
Born in Kızıltepe, Mardin in 1978, he graduated from the Painting Department of İnönü University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2000. In his works, he brings together different appearances of human, nature, and the city, along with the emotional responses these forms evoke. He focuses on universal critical themes such as the position of human-made designs and tools in relation to nature, the destructive effects of technology, the pressures of militarism on society, and the unsustainability of consumer culture. His works, which carry the influences of contemporary art, also bear traces of Neo-figurative, Expressionist, and Pop-art movements.
