Labirent Sanat is pleased to announce Emre Celali's solo exhibition, "Human’s Harmony" on view from March 22 to May 3, 2025. This exhibition explores the cultural journey shaped by humankind’s imagination, intellect, and tangible efforts.
As the thought and concrete efforts of humankind, along with the enrichment of their imagination, their horizon has also been shaped. The pursuit of understanding nature has not only allowed humanity to grasp its unique privileges but also to define its place within the natural world. Human settlements, from past to present, are more than just architectural constructs—they are intricate compositions woven into the landscape. As the only beings capable of shaping their own environments, humans have never settled randomly; instead, they have explored, examined, and consciously chosen their homelands. Unlike animals, which adapt to their environments instinctively, humans have used intellect, emotion, harmony, and resistance to transform their surroundings rather than simply conforming to them. Climbing the steps of cultural evolution for thousands of years, humanity has created its own enduring environment across the ages.
At times, though infrequently, people have also sought to preserve sincerity and naturalness in their view of nature. Thinkers who dedicated their lives to understanding what defines humanity have illuminated our essential qualities. Throughout history, societies have, at times, respected humankind’s role as a researcher, creator, and guardian of language, mathematics, symbols, art, and science—even if not always in their own era. Unlike other living beings, humans have left behind traces not of their existence but of their creations.
Cities that take shape in layers reflect the essence of humanity and the direction of its ideas. The creative force that first emerged in dreams continues to reside in these urban landscapes, interwoven with the relationships between humans, time, and space. As humankind learned to cultivate and transform the land, it gained the ability to domesticate animals and cultivate plants. With human adaptability came agriculture, and with agriculture, civilization was born. Even in the earliest civilizations, humans, driven by the desire for control, began to see themselves as the rulers of the world.
The intricate compositions created by humankind—like the layers of time itself—merge with various spiritual elements from the first layer to the last layer of the works in the "Human’s Harmony" exhibition and form the landscapes. These landscapes, built from multiple materials, offer a perspective on the relationship between nature and humankind. Amidst the complexity of Celali’s compositions, a sense of calm emerges at the center. Moving inward from the outer edges, the chaotic shell gradually yields to a silent core, revealing humanity’s deep connection to nature. The coexistence of opposing spiritual elements mirrors humankind’s delicate balance between harmony and resistance against nature. Through these landscapes, the exhibition also reflects the temporal layers that define humanity—a civilization striving for harmony.
With "Human’s Harmony" Emre Celali emphasizes humanity’s shared values through the universal language of art, offering a vision of coexistence with nature. The exhibition will be on display at Labirent Sanat until May 3, 2025.
